I work with plastic materials-mostly second-hand toys and kitcheware.  It is light, homogeneous, dense in colour, long-lasting, cheap to come by. It is often judged and vilified and is strongly associated with trash.  In other words, plastic is material with low status.

I have grown tired of the hierarchical value system that we are collectively immersed in, and I am not interested in keeping it intact on any level. It is the feminist and activist in me that chose to make jewellery out of plastic.
